Football season kicks off against Illinois
We're just thirty minutes away from the start of the most anticipated season in Missouri football history. The Tigers are sporting their black uniforms with gold pants, an outfit typically dedicated to the most crucial game of the season. Tonight is no different.
The No. 6 ranked Tigers have high hopes for 2008 after coming off a Big 12 North Conference Division title last season, but they're going to have to get past an explosive Fighting Illini team first.
Illinois campaigned all the way to the Rose Bowl last season behind the leadership of junior quarterback Juice Williams. The Illini run a dynamic spread offense, similar to MU, so get ready for a possible shootout.
Last year, Missouri edged past the Illinois 40-34 in the Arch Rivalry game. Turnovers dictated the winner as former safety Pig Brown returned a fumble 100-yards for a touchdown.
Everybody get on your feet. It's football season, baby!
