Tigers edge Jayhawks in XC Challenge

Senior Michael Barrows, sophomore Phillip King and sophomore Dan Quigley run together near the start of the Missouri Cross Country Challenge on Saturday at Gustin Golf Course. All three competitors placed in the top-five, and the Tigers finished as champions.

The MU women's and men's cross Country squads both repeated as champions in the Missouri Cross Country Challenge on Saturday at A.L. Gustin Golf Course. Several colleges and universities competed in the main events–a 5K women's race and 8K men's race–and many high school teams participated in other events as well.

Senior Michael Barrows posted the best time for the MU men's team and sophomore Kinsey Farren led the women.

Senior Angela Potrykus, freshman Laura Roxberg and freshman Aimee Bonte stay ahead of several Kansas runners during the Missouri Cross Country Challenge. The Tiger team edged the Jayhawks for a first-place finish.
