Vann earns second Big 12 Player of the Week award
The MU volleyball team didn't have the best week, losing both Wednesday and Sunday to open conference play at 0-2. But that doesn't mean the news is all bad.
Monday, the Big 12 announced that Caitlyn Vann was named as the conference's Defensive Player of the Week. Vann earned the same honor on Sept. 8, becoming the first MU player since Jessica Vander Kooi in September 2006 to earn conference player of the week honors twice in a season. The sophomore libero posted 33 digs in a four-set loss to Oklahoma on Wednesday and added 25 digs in a four-set loss to Baylor on Sunday. The 58-dig week brings her season total to 219. Vann's 5.21 digs per set lead the Big 12.
