Sophomore Caitlyn Vann's performance in College Park, Md. this weekend earned her Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Missouri sophomore Caitlyn Vann collected her first league honor Monday, as the Big 12 office announced her selection as Defensive Player of the Week. The honor comes at the heels of a 58-dig weekend for Vann at the Spring Hill Suits at Arundel Mills Invitational in College Park, Md. Vann helped Missouri to a 2-1 record during the two-day tournament by averaging 5.27 digs per set. The weekend included a career day for Vann, as she recorded 34 digs in a five-set win over St. John's. She currently leads the Big 12 in digs per set. Vann becomes the first Missouri player to win Conference Player of the Week honors since Tatum Ailes, the libero whose role Vann took over this season.
