America got to meet the Missouri Tigers last Monday in the men's basketball team's dramatic comeback victory over Kansas, 62-60, in a nationally televised game. One week later, America's taking notice.

Missouri's continued success and a slew of losses by teams in last week's Top 25 have helped push the Tigers to No. 10 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and No. 11 in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.

According to Missouri basketball historian Michael Atchison, author of the book True Sons, Missouri's last appearance in the Top 10 after Valentine's Day was on March 14, 1994. That season, the Norm Stewart-coached Tigers earned a No. 1 seed in the West region of the NCAA Tournament and defeated Navy, Wisconsin, and Syracuse before falling to Arizona in the Elite Eight.

The current edition of Missouri basketball sits at 22-4 and 9-2 in Big 12 play. Missouri's 9-2 conference record is the program's best start since the formation of the Big 12.
