Missouri wrestling takes two out of three

The Missouri wrestling team won two of three home dual meets on Sunday. 125-pounder Alan Waters and heavyweight Dom Bradley won all three of their matches.

Missouri shut out Lindenwood 41-0 in its first match of the day. It was the first shutout by the Tigers since a 47-0 win over Maryland in the 2004-2005 season.

Waters and 133-pounder Nathan McCormick both scored pins in the dominating win. Senior Todd Schavrien scored a technical fall at 141 pounds, and three other wrestlers scored major decisions.

The Tigers second match of the day was a lot closer, and ended in a 19-15 victory over Hofstra. The Tigers rallied back from a 15-10 deficit with three straight victories from 184-pounder Patrick Wright, 197-pounder Mike Larson and Bradley.

The Tigers fell 19-15 in their final match of the day to No. 17 Oregon State. Waters pulled off a surprising victory over No. 10 Jason Lara by a 3-2 decision. Waters is now 4-0 in dual meets and 14-0 on the season.

Missouri will be in Albany, NY on Nov. 27 for four matches. The Tigers take will take on American, Rutgers, Lehigh and Maryland before returning home on Dec. 5 for a match against Kent State.
