Wrestling goes 3-1 in Northeast

The No. 16 Missouri wrestling team won three of four games in Albany, N.Y. on Saturday. Missouri beat American, No. 11 Lehigh and Maryland, but lost to No. 24 Rutgers.

Missouri jumped out to big leads in all four matches following wins by freshman Alan Waters, sophomore Nathan McCormick and senior Todd Schavrien in every match. Waters is now 18-0 on the season and 8-0 in dual meets.

Missouri beat American 21-13 in the first match of the day. No. 2 Dom Bradley lost his first match of the season at heavyweight to No. 3 Ryan Flores. Bradley also lost to No. 5 D.J. Russo of Rutgers and No. 1 Zach Rey of Lehigh Saturday before beating Spencer Myers of Maryland.

The only Missouri loss of the day came in the second match, a 19-16 decision against Rutgers. Junior Dorian Henderson and sophomore Mike Larson both won decisions for Missouri.

The Tigers beat Lehigh 21-10 and beat Maryland 18-12 in the final two matches of the day. Seven Tigers won their matches against Lehigh, and six won against Maryland.

Missouri is now 5-3 on the season and will continue dual play against Kent State at home on Sunday.
