The Missouri women’s tennis team is set to hit the road for a pair of matches on Saturday. The Tigers will travel to Minnesota to take on Milwaukee-Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The Tigers are looking to bounce back after a 5-2 home loss last weekend against undefeated Purdue. Coach Blake Starkey believes that a road trip is just what his team needs to get back on track.

“We’ve had some distractions of late and I don’t think we’ll have those while we’re up there,” Starkey said. “It’ll just be hotel and tennis.”

The Panthers and the Gophers will also look to rebound from tough losses. Milwaukee-Wisconsin will look to bounce back from back-to-back losses last weekend against Ball State and Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne. Minnesota, who is 3-2 on the season thus far, is coming off of a heartbreaking 4-3 loss to Nebraska in which five of the six singles matches went three sets.

Looking ahead to Saturday, Starkey believes that Minnesota will be a very challenging matchup for his Tigers.

“When we play Minnesota in the afternoon, that one is going to be a really tough match. They’re quite good,” Starkey said. “It’s more of my ongoing strategy to try and get us in as many tough matches as possible.”

Saturday’s Schedule:

9 a.m.: Milwaukee-Wisconsin vs. Missouri 1:30 p.m.: Missouri at Minnesota 6 p.m.: Milwaukee-Wisconsin at Minnesota
