Missouri men's basketball junior forward Justin Safford has a torn left ACL suffered in Wednesday's victory over Colorado, a Missouri Athletics news release said.

According to the release, Safford's injury will be reassessed next week when treatment will be determined.

Safford suffered his injury in the first half of Missouri's 92-63 win over the Buffaloes. He went down after a fastbreak layup and grabbed his left knee. After being helped off the court, Safford eventually returned to the Missouri bench but did not see action the rest of the game. At the time of his injury, Safford had scored eight points in just less than seven minutes.

For the season, Safford is averaging 8.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 20 minutes per game. He had solidified his spot as one of the two forwards in the starting lineup, along with Keith Ramsey.
