The Tigers bounced back from their first loss in nearly a month to win two games by run rule at the Demarini Invitational on Saturday. Because of inclement weather, the games were moved indoors to the Daniel Devine Pavilion.

Sophomore pitcher Chelsea Thomas added yet another accomplishment to her already impressive season, throwing her second no-hitter of the year as Missouri (21-3, 0-0) run ruled Eastern Michigan 9-0 in six innings. Thomas improved her record to 11-1 on the year, striking out 10 and walking three.

Senior outfielder Gina Schneider led the way for the Tigers, plating three on a home run in the second inning. Junior outfielder Rhea Taylor continued her hot streak, going 3-3 with two RBIs. Taylor also swiped her 109th career base, moving within one steal of tying Julie Link for the Missouri school record.

Game two featured more of the same from Missouri as it easily took down Northern Colorado for the second time in two days, winning 8-0 in six innings. Sophomore pitcher Kristin Nottelmann bounced back from her loss Friday to earn the win, surrendering only two hits and walking two in five innings.

Junior first baseman Marla Schweisberger hit her second home run of the season, and redshirt sophomore utility player Katy Koontz drove home the winning run in the fifth inning with a single to force the run rule. The Tigers outhit their opponents fifteen to 2 on the day.

The Tigers are scheduled to play Northwestern at 1 p.m. Sunday to close out the Demarini Invitational. The time and location are to be determined due to the weather, and will be available via Mutigers.com.
