Senior infielder Michaele Vock hit her first career home run and sophomore pitcher Kristin Nottelmann threw her first career no-hitter as the Tigers (34-8, 5-5 Big 12) earned a split-doubleheader sweep over Evansville and Missouri S&T.

Vock put the finishing touches on a huge fifth inning with a two-run homer to left field, forcing the run rule victory over Evansville 8-0. Junior outfielder Rhea Taylor also chimed in for the Tiger offense, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two stolen bases in the game.

Senior pitcher Jana Hainey continued her impressive pitching with a complete game shutout, allowing only two hits in five innings of work. Hainey improved her record to 6-0 on the year.

Game two was all about Nottelmann, who commanded the Lady Miners throughout the whole game. The sophomore earned her 12th win of the season, going all five innings and striking out a career-high 10 batters for the no-hitter.

Taylor and junior catcher Megan Christopher powered the offense. Taylor knocked in three with a home run in the third inning, her fourth of the season, and Christopher broke out of a slump with two RBI’s.

Missouri looks to continue its seven-game win streak as it hosts a doubleheader Thursday against Central Methodist. Game one begins at 2 p.m.
