Missouri sophomore Jenna Marston has been dominant in her first five games at the IBAF Women’s Baseball World Cup. As one of only 20 players representing the USA, Marston has been a nightmare for opposing pitchers, leading the team with a .773 batting average and four doubles.

Marston has also been impressive on the mound, earning consecutive wins in Team USA’s last two games. The St. Louis native threw two perfect innings against Puerto Rico, and bounced back two days later for four solid innings against Canada.

Marston excelled in her first season at Missouri, batting .473 with 16 RBIs in Big 12 competition. The shortstop helped lead the Tigers to a 51-13 record on the season.

Team USA is 4-1 at the Women’s Baseball World Cup. After dropping the opener, USA has won four straight while outscoring opponents by a 45-1 margin. Marston will try to continue her success as Team USA continues its quest for the gold medal with games against Venezuela and Australia the next two days. The semifinals will begin August 21st.
