Missouri safety Simmons suspended for 3 games
Missouri football coach Gary Pinkel announced a three-game suspension for senior safety Jasper Simmons at a weekly news conference Tuesday.
Pinkel did not disclose details for the cause of the suspension but said Simmons was in no trouble with the law and that the suspension was purely for "team disciplinary reasons."
Simmons apologized to Missouri football fans via a post on his Facebook profile around noon Tuesday.
"I'm saying sorry to the whole Mizzou nation and more to my teammates," Simmons posted.
