Missouri volleyball defeats Eastern Washington

Tags:

The Missouri volleyball team started off strong in the Pepperdine Asics Invitational, sweeping Eastern Washington Friday night.

The team has played well thus far, not dropping a set in any match. Freshman Molly Kreklow has played like a seasoned veteran despite her young career, dishing out 30 plus assists in each match to several big hitters on the team.

Freshman Lisa Henning has also been vital to the team as well. Henning has 39 kills this season, ranking her second on the team behind senior Paola Ampudia. Henning and Kreklow have been effective for the Tigers and have raised the level of play for the entire team.

Another top player has been junior Brittney Brimmage. Brimmage was named to the Tiger Invitational All-Tournament team last weekend, and has stepped up her game from her sophomore year. Brimmage had another impressive match against Eastern Washington on Friday, posting a .412 hitting percentage and 10 kills.

The Tigers will play two matches on Saturday, squaring off against Rice and Pepperdine.
