Tigers 25th in coaches’ poll

The Missouri Tigers men’s basketball team is ranked 25th in the ESPN/USA Today coaches' poll released today.

This is the second consecutive season MU has been in the preseason top-25 after being ranked 15th heading into last season.

North Carolina is the preseason favorite after receiving all but one of the first-place votes. Kentucky, Ohio State, Connecticut and Syracuse round out the top five.

MU is one of four Big 12 schools in the initial rankings. Baylor comes in at 12, Kansas at 13 and Texas A&M at 19.

The Tigers, led by senior guard Marcus Denmon, have just eight scholarship players on the roster.

Missouri coach Frank Haith makes his team debut Friday night as the Tigers hold their annual Black and Gold Game at Mizzou Arena.
