Missouri volleyball reaches NCAA Tournament

The Missouri volleyball team has reached he NCAA Tournament for the tenth time in the past 12 seasons and for the second consecutive season.

"This is a great accomplishment for this group, especially considering how young we are," head coach Wayne Kreklow said. "It was a very long season this year and for this group to just continue to get better and get a chance to play in the NCAA Tournament is great for them. I am really looking forward to seeing how we respond next weekend."

The Tigers will match up against the Florida Gators in the 64-field tournament. The match will be held at Northern Iowa, who earned to No. 6 seed for the series.

Missouri will be the youngest team in the tournament, with underclassmen making up 82 percent of the team. Pennsylvania is next, coming in with 72 percent of their team being freshmen or sophomores.

Should the Tigers advance to the next round, they will play against Northern Iowa or Nebraska.

The team is 21-12 on the season and 7-9 in Big 12 Conference play after defeating Texas Tech in a sweep on Nov. 26.
