Aggies eliminate Tigers from Big 12 soccer tournament
The Missouri soccer team was bounced from the Big 12 Tournament Friday night, as the Texas A&M Aggies posted a clean sheet against the Tigers en route to a 3-0 semi-final victory.
An A&M goal in the 16th minute would hold up as the winner, but the Aggies tacked on insurance goals in the 54th and 82nd minutes.
Redshirt freshmen goalkeeper McKenzie Sauerwein stopped just five of the eight shots A&M recorded. On the other end of the pitch, the offense was non-existent for the Tigers, who mustered just two shots for the entire game, both of which came in the first half.
Texas A&M will face Oklahoma State Sunday for the Big 12 Championship.
The loss dropped MU’s overall record to 12-8-1 and barring unforeseen circumstances the team will not qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
