Missouri gymnasts Burke, Updike receive Big 12 honors
The Big 12 Conference honored two members of the Missouri gymnastics team this week.
Senior Mary Burke won gymnast of the week, and freshman Rachel Updike won newcomer of the week. This was the second straight week Updike has won newcomer of the week, a first for the gymnastics program.
Burke won the all-around and uneven bars titles at the Tigers’ meet Jan. 13 at Southern Utah. Updike won the vault title and finished second in the balance beam at the same meet.
Both will compete in the team's home meet against Denver 6:30 p.m. Friday at Hearnes Center.
