The Missouri men’s basketball team landed its third commitment from the 2013 class with Johnathan William III’s announcement on Thursday at his family’s church in Collierville, Tenn.
The 6-foot-9, 210-pound forward from Southwind High School, whom Rivals.com ranks as the No. 48 player from this year’s class, selected Missouri over Georgetown, Michigan State and Tennessee.
Williams, who won a gold medal alongside No. 1 recruit Jabari Parker and the FIBA America U16 team this past summer in Cancun, Mexico, will help shore out the Tigers’ front court next year. The team will be without senior forwards Laurence Bowers and Alex Oriakhi, two former recruit standouts from the Memphis-area as well.
Missouri’s other commitments from the 2013 class are guards Travis Jorgenson and Wesley Clark.
