Eye named Big 12 Freshman of the Week
Missouri women’s basketball freshman guard Morgan Eye was named Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Week by the league and Phillips 66 on Monday.
Eye was recognized for her performance last week against No. 13 Texas A&M and Kansas, when she averaged 14 points and 4.5 rebounds.
Eye shot 50 percent from the field and had a career-high 19 points against Texas A&M. The Tigers were unable to upset the defending national champions after allowing the Lady Aggies to go on a 11-2 run in the final three minutes, and the Tigers lost their 13th straight game 56-52.
Eye was a major contributing factor in Missouri achieving its first conference win against Kansas, 70-65 on Saturday. Eye had nine points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals in her 37 minutes of play.
