Denmon named Big 12 Player of the Week following 29-point performance

After putting his Tiger teammates on his back in a 74-71 victory over No. 8 Kansas on Saturday night, Missouri senior guard Marcus Denmon has been named Big 12 Conference Player of the Week.

In two games last week, Denmon averaged 17.5 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game. This marks the third time in his career Denmon has had the weekly honor bestowed upon him.

His performance Saturday night against rival Kansas all but assured him the honors. Denmon went off for 29 points on 10-of-16 shooting. He was 6-of-9 from three-point territory. With 3:24 left in the game and the Tigers trailing 71-63, Denmon exploded for nine consecutive points in a span of 1:12, with his final bucket of the sequence being the one that put the Tigers ahead for good.
