Junior defensive lineman Markus Golden ran for a 70-yard touchdown in the third quarter after intercepting Toledo's quarterback, Terrance Owens.
His feat sparked the Tigers (2-0), who would go on to win 38-23, and earned him the Southeastern Conference defensive lineman of the week honor, the league announced Monday.
The interception occurred deep in Tiger territory and helped shift momentum in what was then an eight-point game. It was a crucial component to the Tiger's victory over the Rockets (0-2).
Golden and the rest of the Tigers will take Saturday off and then hit the road to face the Indiana Hoosiers (1-1) Sept. 21.
