No. 15 Missouri softball took down No. 13 Texas A&M in a shutout 7-0 win Friday evening in College Station, Texas.
Freshman Tori Finucane recorded seven strikeouts and gave up only three hits over seven innings.
The Tigers wasted no time getting down to business. Sophomore outfielder Taylor Gadbois stole two bases to advance to third after a single. Sophomore shortstop Sami Fagan singled to bring Gadbois in and make it 1-0.
In the fourth inning, senior outfielder Mackenzie Sykes got the ball rolling with a two-run homer to left center field to score herself and sophomore second baseman Emily Crane. Immediately afterward, junior catcher Angela Randazzo hit a solo shot to put Missouri up by four. Then, an Aggie error converted junior infielder Corrin Genovese's single into a double, scoring two unearned runs to end the inning at 6-0.
Junior first baseman Kelsea Roth provided another solo home run in the sixth for the final run of the game.
The Tigers and Aggies play their second game of the series Saturday at 1 p.m.
