Obama calls for new jobs bill
President Barack Obama called for a new jobs bill just a few minutes ago. He said he wants to get rid of the capital gains tax on small business investments and he wants to use $30 million worth of repaid TARP funds for loans to small businesses.
“The true engine of job creation in this country will always be American businesses," Obama said. “But government can create the conditions for business to expand and hire more workers. We should start where companies begin when an entrepreneur takes a chance on a dream or a worker decides she should be her own boss. Through sheer grit and determination these business have weathered the recession and are set to grow."
