Cure review gets massive traffic
So I was looking over themaneater.com's latest traffic numbers, and I came across a curious spike:
In case you're wondering, our previous single-day visit record was 3,700 on Sept. 9.
Anyway, as it turns out, our review of The Cure's latest album somehow got more views than the front page:
By now, the other online editor and I were really curious. Who'd been sending us all this traffic? Apparently a large Cure blog found our review, and sent us quite a few visitors. The graphic below shows the views we got from this blog as compared to the views we got through Google searches:
Sure enough, we looked and found this post:
Of course, we're excited to have the traffic — but we have to admit it was quite a shock for us.
