What tonight means
It's put up or shut up time for the MU volleyball team.
Missouri enters tonight's matchup with Kansas State with a 7-9 record in conference play following a 3-1 win over Colorado last Saturday. The Tigers' record currently put them behind the 8-ball as far as postseason play is concerned.
Last season, Missouri snuck into the NCAA Tournament with a 10-10 conference record. The Tigers would likely need to equal that record this year to have a shot at their ninth-consecutive tournament berth under coach Wayne Kreklow.
To do so, Missouri would need to go at least 3-1 in its remaining four games - no simple feat. Missouri ends its schedule with matches against No. 13 Kansas State, Baylor, No. 4 Texas and Texas A&M. Missouri is 0-4 against those teams this year.
However, if Missouri has one thing going for it, it's the team's play at Hearnes Center this season. All but the Baylor match will be played in Columbia, where Missouri has a 5-2 conference record.
But, simply put, it may be "win or go home" for the Tigers down the home stretch, beginning tonight against Kansas State.
