Job description
Circuit courts have original jurisdiction over all cases and matters, both civil and criminal. Judges hear and determine different classes of cases within their respective circuits. A presiding circuit judge has administrative authority over all judiciary personnel in the circuit and may assign other judges throughout the circuit to relieve case load or administrative back logs.
