Francis Quadrangle has been roped off for commencement since April. Last year Campus Facilities had to re-sod the Quad due to damage and decided to partition it off earlier this year to avoid the same issue.

The Taco Bell at 1100 Smiley Lane was robbed Sunday morning through the drive-through window by a suspect with a handgun. There were no injuries and no stolen property.

During its meeting Monday, the Columbia City Council approved the rezoning of land just north of Woodridge Park on Berrywood Drive to allow for the construction of the Silver Oak Senior Living facility. The Woodridge Neighborhood Association is still trying to secure protection for a portion of mature forest in the area.

A 56-foot-long overhanging sculpture greets visitors in the lobby of the recently re-opened Missouri Theatre Center for the Arts on Monday. The artwork is dedicated to and bears the lists the names of hundreds of contributors who donated money to the restoration of the theater.

Last weekend, the School of Medicine received a $1.1 million donation for an endowed professorship to advance cancer research at the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center. The center treats 200 to 300 cancer patients on an average day.

Missouri Students Association Department of Student Activities director Rachel Parrish, Orthopedic Surgery Clinical Assistant Professor Tom Brant and MSA Acadmenic Affairs Committee chairwoman Phyllis Williams are announced as new members of QEBH, the oldest secret society on campus, during Friday's Tap Day ceremony in Jesse Auditorium. For the first time in 11 years, the ceremony was held indoors because of inclement weather.
