Voting discussion

Law professor Richard Reuben gave a presentation about student voting rights before a nearly empty room on Thursday. Four members of the College Democrats attended the meeting held in the Gaines/Oldham Black Culture Center.
Despite the small crowd, Reuben carried on with his presentation and answered common questions students might have regarding voting.
"My goal here was to let you know your rights with voting and also how to get involved in the process," Reuben said.
He covered the topics of voting qualifications, registering identification to bring and when and where to vote. Reuben also addressed "voter intimidation." He gave examples including people helping fill out ballots or taking pictures of your ballot.
College Democrats President Nate Kennedy brought three other members to the meeting.
He said he wasn't upset with the low turnout because the group have already held other forums.
Reuben said that he wasn't upset either and that he was happy the attendants were politically engaged.
"It's hard to compete with the Cardinals," Reuben said.
