The court trial of MU running back Tony Temple was rescheduled Friday for Nov. 14. This is the second time the trial has been delayed. The trial was originally scheduled for Aug. 10.
Temple was arrested on suspicion of punching Jeffrey Jones, a Bennigan's Grill and Tavern employee, in the face and mouth on the evening of June 11.
According to police, the altercation was caused by a dispute involving Temple's girlfriend, former MU softball player Kendra Power, who was also an employee at Bennigan's.
According to court documents, Temple left the scene but returned when authorities contacted him. Temple was placed under arrest and posted a $500 bond for the misdemeanor offense. Temple faces up to one year in jail and a $1,000 fine if he is convicted of the class A misdemeanor.
Temple was suspended from the MU football summer training camp. But he has been allowed to play in the regular season so far, contributing to the Tigers 5-0 record.
