Men's golf finishes with strong final round
The MU men's golf team wrapped up its fall season this weekend with a ninth place finish in Kansas' Landfall Tradition.
The Tigers had their best team round on Sunday with a score of 299.
Senior Shawn Jasper led all the Tigers with a 231, putting him in a tie for 25th place. Seniors John Kelly and Trent Twaddle shot a final round 72 and 74 to tie for 31st.
MU soccer ends season how it began
The MU soccer team completed its season Friday night with its second Big 12 win against Iowa State to put the team over the .500 mark. After starting the season 6-0, MU won just three of its next 13 games to finish 10-9 and 2-8 in Big 12 play.
Senior Aria Hudetz, in her last game as a Tiger, scored her first goal of the season in the 35th minute to give MU a 1-0 lead. The Cyclones responded with a second-half goal to send the game into overtime. Freshman Crystal Wagner scored the game-winner with a header in the 106th minute to give the Tigers a 2-1 victory.
Women's tennis Pro-Am postponed
Saturday's tennis Pro-Am tournament, which features MU tennis players, fans and local celebrities, has been postponed until the winter season. No date has been set for the tournament, but tennis coach Blake Starkey said the makeup date will likely be in mid-January at the beginning of the winter semester.
The Tigers have completed their fall season. The first match in the winter season is scheduled for Jan. 27 at Saint Louis University.
MU wrestler wins Lindenwood Open title
Freshman wrestler Ashtin Primus won the 141-pound title on Friday in St. Charles at the Lindenwood Open, his first collegiate title.
Primus was one of seven Tigers competing in the event, and the 141-pound final became an all-MU affair when teammate Vince Hannon reached the final of the tournament as well.
Primus needed 1:06 to pin Hannon and claim the title.
No other MU wrestler reached the final in any other weight class. Kevin Ecker was the only wrestler to record at least three victories.
