West Broadway Subway robbed
Published Feb. 10, 2006
The Subway restaurant at 2101 West Broadway in Columbia was robbed at approximately 8 p.m. on Monday. This is the third time the store has been robbed in less than two years.
Columbia police Sgt. Ken Hammond said the store was also robbed in July 2004 and June 2005.
According to a Columbia Police Department news release, the suspect threatened the employee with a gun and demanded money. After obtaining an unspecified amount of cash, the suspect escaped on foot from the restaurant. The incident was reported to police two minutes later.
Hammond said there were no customers in the restaurant at the time of the robbery.
Hammond was not sure if there was any new information on the incident as of 5 p.m. Thursday.
"The investigation has been turned over to an investigator who is currently working on the case," Hammond said.
A Subway manager was not available for comment.
