Graham Hospitalized

Sen. Chuck Graham, D-Columbia, checked himself into St. Mary's Health Center in Jefferson City Monday afternoon for a staph infection, Graham's chief of staff Ted Farnen said.
Graham noticed swelling on his left leg and was not sure of the cause, Farnen said.
"He knew there was something wrong and wanted to get it checked out," Farnen said. "He wasn't sure what it was."
Graham probably will be released on Wednesday and would go home for a few days to rest and take antibiotics, Farnen said.
Farnen said Graham's goal is to be back in session on Monday.
"We want to make sure he gets the staph infection under control and that it does not get any worse," Farnen said.
Farnen said Graham doesn't like to miss any days but he is thankful that it is still towards the beginning of the legislative session.
"At least it is not like the last week of session where there are many votes," Farnen said.
