State Representative Judy Baker, D-Columbia, filed papers on Feb. 28 to seek re-election to the 25th District seat. Baker was elected in 2004. She sits on the Health and Mental Health and Social Services Appropriations Committee.
"If I am re-elected, I will continue to look at the healthcare system as a whole because it does not help any of us to add to the uninsured population by cutting people off aid," Baker said. "I will also advocate for students, and in my district, hopefully, we will be in the middle of new projects."
Baker graduated from MU with bachelor's degree in educational studies in 1981.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed the pleasure of representing my district, and I want to take what I've learned from this term and apply it in the future," she said.
