Police arrest three for drug offenses

Police found marijuana and cocaine at a Columbia home.

A drug bust Wednesday night resulted in the arrest of three people, according to a Columbia Police Department news release.

At approximately 6:40 p.m., police officers served a warrant at two residences.

No drugs were found at one of the residences, but according to a news release, officers found marijuana and cocaine at 1111 Grand Ave.

The release stated that officers arrested three adults, Rodney Hughes, Gerald Harris and Shirika Jordan, at the residence.

According to the news release, Hughes was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and resisting arrest. Harris and Jordan were arrested on suspicion of distributing a controlled substance to distribute and first-degree endangerment of a child.

According to the Boone County Sheriff Department's Web site, Hughes and Harris were still in custody at the Boone County Jail as of Thursday night.

An official at the Boone County Jail said a bondsman posted Jordan's bail at approximately 9 a.m. Thursday.

Her bond was $9,000.
