Crow can still rock

ST. LOUIS — If you couldn't tell from the orgiastic dancing, the cacophony of singing and clapping throughout the show might have shown it. Despite being 44 and undergoing cancer treatment recently, Sheryl Crow still conveys the energy and playfulness that has won her nine Grammy Awards throughout the years starting in 1994.

Crow played after John Mayer at the UMB Bank Pavilion on Sunday, but they shared the stage for "My Favorite Mistake."

Crow mostly stuck to songs from her older albums. The only song off of her latest album, Wildflower, was "Good is Good," which, along with "Real Gone," from the movie "Cars" rounded out the new music.

It would have been nice to hear more from Wildflower, but Crow made up for it by playing most of her big hits. She opened with "A Change Will Do You Good" and ended with a dynamic performance of "Everyday is a Winding Road."

Crow also played several covers, including Cat Stevens' "The First Cut is the Deepest," Bob Dylan's "Mississippi" and, during the encore, Led Zeppelin's "Rock and Roll."

I was very impressed by the performance because even though I have seen Crow play before, it seemed like she and the crowd had more energy.
