Police have named a suspect in a shooting that occurred Tuesday in downtown Columbia that wounded a juvenile male and an adult male.
According to a news release from the Columbia Police Department, Malcolm D. Redmon, 24, is a suspect in the shooting. The release also stated that Redmon should be considered dangerous.
Police issued a warrant for Redmon's arrest on two counts of first-degree assault and armed criminal action, Columbia police Sgt. Ken Hammond stated in the release.
The shooting grew out of a fight involving multiple people, according to the release.
Columbia Police responded to this incident at 6:49 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to a news release, callers reported that multiple shots had been fired and that there was an individual lying in the road.
Police officers who arrived at the scene of the crime, which occurred at the 500 block of Park Avenue, found two gunshot victims.
The juvenile victim, 15, was shot in the jaw and the adult male victim was shot in his leg, Hammond stated in the release.
Redmon was formerly sentenced to six years in jail after receiving felony charges surrounding producing with the intent to distribute a controlled substance and stealing, according to Missouri court documents.
That sentence was originally suspended, and Redmon received five years of supervised probation.
But his probation was revoked in July 2004, and he was ordered to fulfill his original sentence, court documents stated.
