Delivery truck robbed

On Sept. 24, between 3:10 to 3:14 a.m., individuals staked their claim to $487 worth of frozen seafood and steak from a truck parked in the University Hospital parking lot.
The truck, a Nissan Titan, was parked in the emergency room parking lot of University Hospital. MU Police Capt. Brian Weimer said the driver of the truck, an employee of Iowa Steak Company, was visiting someone at the hospital. A delivery was not being made to University Hospital. Representatives from Iowa Steak Company could not be reached for comment as to where the products were being delivered.
The food, which included 25 frozen boxes, was taken from an unlocked freezer inside of the truck. Out of the stolen boxes, 24 were in cases and the final box was independent of the others.
"They had left the freezer unlocked because he had been close to the freezer all night," Weimer said.
Weimer said he was unaware as to where the meat and seafood was being transported.
