Maclin injury not serious
Although freshman wide receiver Jeremy Maclin bruised his shoulder during Saturday's win against Texas A&M, coach Gary Pinkel said he will play at full strength during practice.
"We expect him to be at 100 percent," Pinkel said of Maclin.
Pinkel also said junior tight end Chase Coffman tweaked his ankle in the second quarter on Saturday, but he will also be fine.
"Coffman has had that ankle he's been tweaking," Pinkel said. "But I think he'll be good to play Saturday."
Tigers move up in BCS again
One team ahead of MU in the Bowl Championship Series lost Saturday, so the Tigers got a bump from No. 6 to No. 5 in the latest rankings.
The Tigers are still third in the Big 12 in the BCS, behind No. 3 Kansas and No. 4 Oklahoma. Louisiana State and Oregon would play in the BCS National Championship Game in New Orleans if the season ended today.
Missouri is No. 6 now in the Associated Press and coaches' polls. West Virginia is one spot ahead of the Tigers in the polls but one behind them in the BCS.
No major depth chart changes
The depth chart will apparently stay the same for Saturday's game at Kansas State. Pinkel said this was because the Tigers are playing consistently and staying healthy.
"We are very, very fortunate from an injury standpoint," he said. "It's really nice when you can keep the same depth chart week after week."
Daniel in the Heisman race
The Heisman Trust, which oversees voting for the Heisman Trophy, told junior quarterback Chase Daniel that the organization will be sending voters to each of his remaining games, meaning that he is still in consideration to be a finalist for the award.
Daniel ranks second in the Big 12 in total offense, passing yards and points per game; those totals also rank in the top 10 nationally. He had a quarterback rating of 189.91 and completed 77 percent of his passes in Saturday's win.
The finalists for the award will be announced on Dec. 5, and the Heisman Trophy will be awarded in New York on Dec. 8.
