Former MU student shot, killed in Kansas

A former MU student, Christopher Sloan, 22, of Lenexa, Kan., was killed during a shooting at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday in Kansas City, Kan., according to The Kansas City Star Web site.
MU sophomore Jacob Long, president of Sigma Nu fraternity, said Sloan is an alumni member of the chapter.
Sgt. Scott Ladish of the Kansas City Kansas Police Department confirmed a double shooting in which one victim died, but he could not confirm the names of either victim.
The shooting occurred near an apartment complex in the 600 block of S. 71st Terrace, Ladish said.
Ladish said he could not confirm any more details, but that department will probably issue a news release within 48 hours of the incident.
