Missouri men's basketball coach Mike Anderson confirmed on Thursday that junior forward Glen Dandridge has left the team. Dandridge had told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on Wednesday he was leaving, ending speculation from the last couple of weeks that his run in Columbia was coming to an end.

The Goochland, Va., native told the paper he would stay at MU for the remainder of the semester and summer classes. According to the Post-Dispatch, he has not decided where he will transfer; he would have to red-shirt a season if he went to another Division I program but could play immediately at the Division II level.

In a news release, Anderson said he talked to Dandridge, and they reached the conclusion that it was time to part ways.

"Glen and I sat down and discussed his future, and we came to a mutual agreement that this decision was in the best interest for him and our program," he said. "We certainly thank Glen for his time and commitment to the University of Missouri and wish him nothing but the best of luck in his future endeavors."

Dandridge averaged 1.4 points and less than one rebound in 18 games last season and figured to see even less time in 2007-2008 with the addition of forwards Demarre Carroll and Justin Safford. Safford took MU's only scholarship available for next year, but the departure of Dandridge opens up another scholarship for a potential recruit.
