MU student hit by car

A car hit a pedestrian walking on College Avenue near Wilson Avenue at approximately 2:01 p.m. on Tuesday.
MU senior Colleen Purcell, the pedestrian who was hit, was taken to University Hospital. Purcell is still hospitalized and was in fair condition as of press time.
The driver, MU senior Christine Hoffman, was treated at the scene by medical personnel and then released.
No summons was issued to either Purcell or Hoffman, said MU Police Department Capt. Brian Weimer. The accident is still under investigation.
"We'll be talking to the prosecutor's office about what information we have in regards to either subject," Weimer said. "We're still talking to people."
