MU-NU football game to be broadcast on ESPN

The Big 12 and ESPN announced Monday morning that Missouri's football game on Oct. 6 against the Nebraska Cornhuskers will be broadcast nationally and in primetime.

The game will kick off at 8:15 p.m. local time and is the second national television appearance for the Tigers this season.

MU was on ESPN2 when they played Illinois in St. Louis on Sept. 1.

Missouri was last seen on ESPN in 2005 when they beat South Carolina to win the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, La.

The game is this year's Gold Rush Game, and available tickets are scarce. Some are going for over $100 dollars on eBay.com, with a crowd nearing or exceeding 70,000 expected.

Memorial Stadium's listed capacity is 68,531.

Women's basketball schedule released

The old adage that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger definitely applies to the MU women's basketball team this year.

The team will play against 13 teams that reached the postseason last year.

The Tigers open their season when they play the Murray State Racers on Nov. 9 at Mizzou Arena.

MU will also play a non-conference tournament in South Florida, and they will again play host to the Tiger Classic on Dec. 7 and 8.

They will also play in a two-day tournament in late December in Charlottesville, Va., which is being hosted by the Virginia Cavaliers.

As is normal, the Tigers will play their North Division opponents both at home and away, and the teams from the South just once. MU will play host to Baylor, Oklahoma and Texas Tech and travel to Texas, Texas A&M and Oklahoma State.

The Tigers will play on national television twice, on Feb. 3 against Nebraska and Feb. 24 against Kansas. Both of those games will be at Mizzou Arena and on Fox Sports Net.

All together, Missouri will play at home 16 times.

Volleyball team to make TV appearances

On Oct. 31 at Nebraska and Nov. 14 at home against Iowa State, the MU volleyball team will get some exposure.

The Nebraska match will be on College Sports Television, and the Iowa State match will be aired on Fox Sports Net Midwest.
