Missouri Students Association President-elect Jim Kelley and Vice President-elect Chelsea Johnson's chief of staff nominee withdrew his name for consideration Tuesday.
Kelley announced Steve Scott as his pick for the position Sunday. Scott was to go before the MSA Senate Operations Committee on Tuesday night for approval.
Kelley said he had not decided on a timeline for re-opening the position for applicants.
"I want to make sure we get this process right when we do this," he said.
Kelley said Scott withdrew because of other commitments.
"Steve felt burned out," Kelley said. "He's been involved here on campus since he was a freshman."
Kelley praised Scott and said he was honest.
"Steve Scott at 75 or 80 percent is better than a lot of people at 100 percent," Kelley said.
