Collins sisters battle as teammates for MU soccer

Junior Michelle Collins does schoolwork with her sister, freshman Kendra Collins, in a computer lab at the Mizzou Athletic Training Complex on Tuesday. Other than playing with the MU soccer team, the sisters typically meet twice a week to have lunch and catch up with each other's lives.

The Collins sisters played soccer together for two years at Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, Ill. In 2005, her senior year of high school, Michelle Collins (13) led Neuqua Valley to an Illinois state championship.

Kendra and Michelle's parents, Patrick and Carolyn, started the girls in ballet as children. Although they enjoyed dancing, both turned to soccer at a young age and soon became entrenched in the complicated world of competitive youth club soccer.
