Police are looking for two men to question after shots were fired at a party Saturday night.
The shots were fired at about 10:59 p.m. at 5106 Rice Road, according to a Columbia Police Department news release.
The first suspect is a black man, about 17-19 years of age and 5 feet 11 inches tall, who was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue polo shirt with a white T-shirt underneath. The other suspect was a man who was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the hood cinched around his face.
There were about 80 people at the party when about 10 people, including the suspects, tried to get into the house. When Ryan Givens, the resident of the house, refused to let them in, the first suspect pointed a semi-automatic handgun at Givens, the release stated.
Givens then went back into the house and shut the door. After hearing shots fired outside the front of the residence, several witnesses looked out of the window and then saw the second suspect fire a shotgun just outside of the front door.
No one was injured during the incident.
"The investigation is still ongoing," CPD Sgt. Ken Hammond said. "Investigators are only preliminarily involved at this point."
Givens was arrested on suspicion a nuisance party violation possession of alcohol by a minor and misdemeanor marijuana possession.
