Letter to the Editor: Fessehaye/Abell will listen to student organizations

"What's in it for me (WIIFM)?" The aforementioned question is subconsciously asked by most of us in our decision-making process. When I asked myself WIIFM in considering my vote for the candidacy for Missouri Students Association president, I realized who the best tandem for the position is: Joe Fessehaye and Lindsey Abell.

Joe and Lindsey's main goal is to promote communication from MSA to the students and from the students to MSA. They aim to make communications both open and convenient, while ensuring the quality of the student programs we all hold dear (i.e. MUTV/Channel 23, KCOU/88.1 FM and STRIPES).

Joe and Lindsey will keep their ears open to the needs of student organizations and the students. While they do not have a formal sustainability plank, they are certainly developing one. Their sustainability plank will include a key ingredient: the Greek community's voice. Joe and I have been and will continue to discuss the state of sustainability on our campus. Joe and Lindsey will go out of their way to hear the voice of other sustainability groups, as well. Their progress with sustainability objectives may seem slow, but their efforts are sincere and progress is being made in the right direction.

When sitting down to vote for an MSA president, ask yourself, "What's in it for me?" You'll find Joe and Lindsey's platform has been drafted for you by opening up communication. Joe and Lindsey aren't interested in speaking for themselves; rather, they're interested in hearing what you have to say as a means to represent your voice. The deciding factor for my vote is this: Do I want a candidate with an open mouth or a candidate with open ears? My vote: Joe and Lindsey for MSA president.
