MU Police Department officers arrested three men in relation to a Feb. 3 vandalism spree in Virginia Avenue Garage, according to an MUPD news release.
Zachary T. Wayhart, Matthew D. Feldewerth and James Young, all 19, were previously given summonses for possession of alcohol by a minor. Tyler D. Eckert, 19, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of first-degree tampering related to the vehicle vandalisms and one count of second-degree tampering for setting off a fire extinguisher in Respect Hall.
Wayhart, of Wildwood, and Feldewerth, of Respect Hall, were each arrested on suspicion of three counts of first-degree tampering related to the vehicle vandalisms and one count related to vandalism in the Virginia Avenue housing complex.
Eckert, of Ballwin, was arrested on suspicion second-degree tampering for clogging the toilet in one of the holding cells at MUPD.
MUPD Chief Jack Watring told The Maneater in a previous report that all four men were intoxicated.
MUPD Capt. Brian Weimer said people whose cars were vandalized would be able to seek restitution.
This means if the men are convicted of the crime the court can order them to pay back damages.
Weimer said police do not know the total amount of damages, as victims are still seeking estimates.
According to a previous Maneater report, cars had slashed tires, broken antennas, were keyed and door panels were kicked in.
