The Hearnes Fieldhouse was the setting of the 24th annual Missouri All Comers track and field meet. And All Comers is exactly what this meet was, with several hundred competitors ranging from junior high students to 40-year-old runners in the masters division. There was a large turnout and close battles in events across all of the divisions.

One of the highlights of the meet was Missouri junior Elisha Hunt in the women’s college/open division weight throw. The 2007 All American and school record holder committed fouls on her first two throws but was able to come back from the slow start and with her final throw set a new American record of 20.11 meters, which bested the old record by 1.11 meters.

Hunt dominated her competition as the second place finisher, Kendra Richardson of MU, finished with 15.83 meters.

Another one of the memorable finishers was Missouri’s sophomore Lindsey Boldt. The six-time Iowa high school champion won two out of the three events she competed in. In the women’s college/open division 60-meters hurdles, Boldt posted a time of 9.42 seconds and edged out sophomore Lauren Begany, also of Missouri, who had a time of 9.43. Boldt was able to top all finishers in the women college/open division high jump. Boldt finished with a 1.6 meter jump and wasn’t quite able to reach the 1.63 meter mark. Sophomore Meaghan Brougher, junior Kaela Rorvig, and freshman Lauren Toropova, all from Missouri, tied with jumps over the 1.55-meter mark.

On the men’s side of the meet, Missouri freshman Bobby Schafer finished first in maybe the closest event of the afternoon, the men’s college/open division 400-meter dash. Missouri freshman James Haynes won fourth in the event. The difference between first and fourth was only .74 seconds.

Some more success from the men’s side in the meet came in the form of Missouri sophomore Ben Wade, finishing first in the men’s college/open division 800-meter run. He finished with a time of 1:58.34 and freshman Robert Bollinger with a time of 2:04.87 held second place.
