MU Extension professor killed in car crash
Charles D. Fulhage was an agricultural engineer from Rocheport.

MU Extension professor Charles D. Fulhage of Rocheport died Tuesday from injuries sustained in a traffic accident Friday. He was 61 years old.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol accident report, Fulhage was driving west on Interstate 70 near mile marker 122, which is west of Columbia. A 2001 Dodge Pickup, driven by William C. Downs of St. Louis, struck Fulhage's 2002 Ford Ranger from behind, the report states.
Both vehicles left the road. Fulhage's vehicle was overturned in an embankment, and Downs' car came to rest in a ditch.
Both drivers were taken to University Hospital. According to the accident report, Downs' injuries were minor. Fulhage was pronounced dead around noon Tuesday at the hospital.
According to the MU Web site, Fulhage graduated from Kansas State University in 1968 with a bachelor's degree in grain science. He earned both a master's and a doctorate in agricultural engineering from MU.
